We take pride in consistently delivering superior and reliable service, a broad scope of services and an exemplary safety record.  We’re currently seeking a Switching Manager.

The Switching Manager is responsible for the on-time release of trains and timely grounding of containers & trailers.  Switching Managers lead the switching workforce and assist with the ramp workforce to meet customer needs and profitability goals.  

Responsibilities

Switching Manager

  • Manages the switching operation; safety, administration, maintenance & productivity
  • Leads the training & orientation of all conductor/engineers
  • Ensures employees have the knowledge, skills & ability to perform assigned tasks
  • Responsible for problem solving with local railroad officers
  • Responsible for the staffing of all switching employees
  • Enforces & upholds all rules, regulations and policies
  • Issues disciplinary actions
  • Creates & reviews weekly schedule & ensures customer/operational needs are met
  • Responsible for scheduling and record keeping of all track inspections 
  • Knowledgeable with CFR 49 Subparts 217, 219, 240, and 242 (Qualification and Certification of Conductors/Engineers)

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years railroad experience
  • Minimum 3 years of Engineer experience
  • 3 years of experience as a railroad operating officer is preferred, not required
  • Operational testing experience is preferred, not required
  • Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Web Based Data systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Work Ethic
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Open availability
