We take pride in consistently delivering superior and reliable service, a broad scope of services and an exemplary safety record.  We’re currently seeking a Depot Corporate Safety Manager to join our Depot business unit team.

The Depot Corp Safety Manager is responsible for reducing liabilities associated with safety, health and industry laws and regulations.  Supports and partners with management teams to implement and execute safety and loss control responsibilities.  Coaches employees in improving safety practices and is responsible the business unit safety program

Responsibilities

Depot Corporate Safety Manager

  • Lead implementation and execution of the Company’s Health & Safety strategy of Zero Harm, placing a strong emphasis on continuous improvement and proactive measures.
  • Coaches all field employees in all aspects related to safety and loss prevention.
  • Directs safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.  Regularly reviews all safety policies.  
  • Supports the Environmental Manager with ensuring compliance with all related EPA regulations when onsite at a depot
  • Inspects and reviews operations to ensure compliance of operation and equipment with industry, customer, state and federal regulations.
  • Partners with site managers to perform incident analysis and corrective actions.
  • Communicates safety policy and procedure changes. Conducts safety and quality training as needed.
  • Investigates safety related incidents, reviews incident reports and completes the necessary reports for customers, corporate safety and risk management.
  • Conducts periodic audits of safety and environmental compliance.

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Management or other applicable disciplines
  • 5 years’ experience in Industrial Safety, Intermodal Operations or the Container Depot industry
  • Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills are mandatory
  • Proficient in Outlook and MS Office suite of products
  • Strong team player with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to climb ladders on equipment
